ABOUT ME
My name is Sonia Tompkins, your Reiki Master and Biomagnetism Teacher. As an Herbalist I have been into holistic ways of healing for a long time. After receiving my Herbology Certification I became a Licensed Massage Therapist and opened my practice Apothecary Living. From there I saw another way of reaching out and helping people, through Reiki healing, I became a Master and Teacher so I may teach others. Having held my own healing experiences through Biomagnetism I decided to bring it into my practice and teach others.
About Reiki
Reiki History
The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “Rei” (universal) and “Ki” (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing. Energy healing is always open to one’s own interpretation. According to many versions of its origin, Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience. He began teaching others after a serious earthquake hit Japan and he felt urged to spread his knowledge.
- Reiki is an Energy Healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
- Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
- Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has shown to be effective and creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
